This is not the usual notice that we’ll be closed in observance of Labor Day. We will be… BUT we’re doing something else, too. Labor day seems like the perfect time to let the world know that we are now a UNION print shop! Reno Type employees are represented by local 401 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. If you’ve been working with Reno Type for a while, nothing really changes for you: Maybe a warm fuzzy feeling of knowing that the crew you trust is being taken care of as they deserve. Here’s a link to the press release, in case you want to learn more.
If you request it, we’ll add the union bug to anything we produce in-house. And for imprinted promotional products, we’ve cultivated relationships with union decorators and manufactures. In those cases, it won;t be our union bug… but the bug of the company producing the product.
Of course it’s much more than just a little bug printed on an item. Union made means well made. Fairly made. It means the people who produced the item make a decent living wage, have good healthcare, and representation to help ensure they are not taken advantage of.
